We were fortunate to be asked to design and install a Mural in the Public Market at Granville Island. The message behind the mural is to encourage exploration and discovery around Granville Island, Vancouver’s most beloved public space. We love the flow, movement and vibrancy of the painting, and we hope it brings you as much joy as it gives us.
We have also released a print version of the mural that is in our shop.

a connectivity rooted in love
This piece represents our collective human consciousness.
It represents our connectivity with the natural environment.
Everything is intrinsically linked.
We will all interpret something different from this piece, depending on our own experience.
This is a simple message of loving awareness, and the beauty of just being.

"Looking for the key, but the door was always open"

This work had its genesis in our reflection of our past 20 years working together. When the pandemic forced our communities to retreat into isolation, our scope for inspiration retreated with it. For the first time, Paul and I were forced to fold our creative energy inwards. After reflecting upon how we perceive the pieces of art we have created together over the past 20 years, our attention was drawn to the huge window that frames one end of our studio. Wanting to maximize the amount of light it lets in, and appreciate its vastness and structure, Paul and I cleared the clutter from the shelf beneath the window. The space we revealed transformed our workspace into a powerful graphic that we would later convert into a monochromatic image. The space was transformed once again when we started hanging finished and unfinished pieces of silk in front of the glass panes. The window became a frame that highlighted the grace and flow of the draped fabric. A simple photograph taken with Paul’s phone captured this stunning moment and ‘Looking for the key, but the door was always open’ was born. This body of work is resourceful and experimental and a true expression of us both. It has produced two fresh and contemporary pieces of art work and a limited edition t-shirt, connected with our last remaining editions of scarves.

Visiting sentimentality
For the past year we have been working on a project that is entirely inspired by our own personal influences. We aimed to create a piece of art that represents us personally and is not driven by sales and the pressure to constantly produce new work. The subject matter of this piece has been sitting idle in sketchbooks, waiting to be rediscovered; this includes objects which we love or have some personal attachments to. Throughout the past year, our newsletters have documented this process of rediscovery from the first pencil sketches, to acetates, followed by colour inspiration, and lastly, the set-up of screens. The final pieces of our project have now been completed, which has exceeded both our expectations. The project comprises of three pieces. The main piece is an edition of five pigment hand screen prints with a touch of painting on a 91cm X 91cm cotton canvas, stretched on a custom made frame. Also available is a large pigment digital painting, and finally a beautiful hand screen printed 90 cm X 90cm silk scarf.

90’s pleats
Bright colours, bold patterns and over the top opulence became synonymous in the early 90’s. A refreshing aesthetic contrasting the prevailing taste for muted colours and simplicity. These vivid colours which exude feelings of unadulterated joy, romance and happiness were our main source of inspiration for our popular pleats silk scarf. Hand screen printed in small editions by us.

A year ago we decided on the contents of our new collection inspired by a single image captured on a summer evening walk. An idea was blossoming that would push ourselves and cause experimentation outside our comfort zone. Intrinsically linked to one idea, this collection was meant to explore all of our technical capabilities with different print mediums over three surfaces. After working through our individual inspirations and creative processes, we brought together drawing and paintings that would be the framework of this collection. We decided to split the project into three parts consisting of an installation printed on canvas, a hand printed silk scarf and a hand printed paper edition, all individual, but of equal importance requiring its own personal design and printing techniques. Like the parts of a triangle each part infinitely connected with its sister facets and of equal importance to the overall shape.
